Script

[0:00] In this video, you’ll give a student something to practise, with a target, a due date and a note.

A new assignment

[0:06] Assignments are made on the student’s page. Under Assignments, press New.

[0:13] The catalog has everything you can assign: your studio’s own songs, the built-in songs, the lessons, and more than seven hundred pieces from the classical library.

Songs and targets

[0:24] Search by title or composer. Accents don’t matter, so you can type the name without them.

[0:30] Press Add, and the piece moves up to To practise.

[0:34] For a song, the target is a number of stars in Play mode, or minutes of practice.

Lessons

[0:40] Lessons can be assigned too. Here’s the lesson on three beats in a bar.

[0:45] A lesson is done when the student has finished every activity in it.

When and why

[0:50] Add a due date if you want one.

[0:53] And a note, which the student sees with the assignment.

[0:57] Then press the Assign button, at the top.

What happens next

[1:01] The assignment is open, with each item’s progress. Only practice done after it was set counts towards it.

[1:08] In TempoPiano, Zoe sees it on the Home screen, under From your teacher. Each item opens in the mode its target needs.
